CHAP Program
(Community Helpers for Active Participation)
CHAP Workers promote active living for children and adults with developmental disabilities including autism and/or physical disabilities in their own home or in the community, while providing parent relief.

WORKER ORIENTATION TRAINING: Workers that have submitted an online application must complete the Safeguards online Respite Services Training Certificate course and attend an Orientation session. For the Safeguards course please visit the SafeGuards Training Site. The course is self-paced and takes approx. 2-5 hours to finish. The cost is $28.25 H.S.T. included. |

On July 4th 2011, the province of Ontario introduced Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) a centralized access and assessment point for Adult Developmental services. Individuals 18 years and older must be registered with DSO to be eligible for Adult services in Ontario.
If you or someone you support is 16-18 years old and preparing for transition to the Adult system OR If you are 18 and older and have not previously been registered with DSO or received services please contact DSO at 1-855-277-2121
