Program Title : Residential Respite for Youth with Autism with High Needs
Program Time : flexible (a few hours to a few days)

Admission Criteria : Children and youth (ages 11-18) diagnosed with Autism with multiple and complex needs. Must be mobile/physically able.

Special clothing, including diapers, snacks and favourite toys and transitional objects such as special blankets should be provided by the family.

Cost: Parents are encouraged to contribute some funding to be used towards the costs of admissions to parks or other attractions and for special outings to community activities and restaurants.
Activities : Respite Services are goal oriented and designed to foster life and social skills, promote adaptive behaviours, healthy recreational activities and community involvement. This may include swimming, gym play, park activities and outings.

Although Wednesday - Friday and Weekends are the available days in special circumstances Monday to Wednesday can also be available.

Parents who sign their children to our services are encouraged to meet with staff to benefit from the staff feedback regarding their child's respite stay and to access other TRE-ADD services such as participation in parent training or educational opportunities, te sibling groups designed to reduce stress and increase understanding of Autism.
