A Respite contractor is a person who wishes to provide respite supports to individuals with special needs (developmental disability, autism and/or physical disability). He/she works independently of any Respite Network agencies. He/she is self employed and may request to advertise their services, at no cost, on this site by: completing an online appliction form or submitting a printable application form

What is a Vulnerable Sector’s Screening Check?
This is a check to screen individuals who intend on working or volunteering with persons who are dependent on others and there is a greater risk of harm than the general population. A Vulnerable Sector’s Screening check is a more thorough check and is not the same as a Criminal Reference Check.
It is completed by the Ontario Provincial Police (in Timmins, it is completed by the local police).
There is a fee of approximately $25 dollars
Two pieces of identification must be presented, in person, at the OPP detachment. One piece of identification must include a photo.
Acceptable identification: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate, permanent residency card, certification of Indian status, Canadian Military employment card, International student card, BYID card, baptismal certificate, hunting license, outdoors card, Canadian blood donor card,
Not acceptable: OHIP card, SIN card
