Private Worker Database

The Worker Database is a listing of qualified, experienced workers that individuals and families may choose to engage using their own funding.  Our database is updated regularly as we recruit new workers and families find successful matches.

Private Support Workers are not agency or www.respiteservices.com employees.  They are considered self employed contract workers or employees of the hiring family, depending on the employment relationship the family has determined. It is up to the individual or caregiver to select, interview and negotiate rate of pay, role expectations, etc. with the workers directly.

All new workers to the site have submitted an application outlining their experience, education, skills, interests and availability.  They are required to attend an orientation session with the Respite Coordinator, produce an orginal copy of their Criminal Reference Check, including the Vulnerable Sector Check dated within the last year, as well as have a least two professional references ready for caregivers to contact.

Our service works best when our information about families and workers is current. Please contact the Respite Coordinator as soon as:
  • you hire a worker or are hired
  • your family needs change and you temporarily do NOT require a worker
  • your schedule changes that you can temporarily NOT take any contracts with families
  • you wish to be removed from the registry permanently.
