ABA Based Services and Support for Children and Youth with ASD Central West Region

Région Centre Ouest : accueil des Services ABA

Central West Region Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) Services Intake. CWR ABA Intake is where you apply for ABA services for children between the ages of 0 to 17 years (up to 18th birthday) in Central West Region in Ontario. We serve the following areas within Central West Region:

  • Dufferin County
  • Halton Region
  • Peel Region
  • Waterloo Region
  • Wellington County

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding behaviour. It is an evidence based approach to learning that reinforces positive behaviours and reduces problematic ones. ABA helps children and youth with an autism spectrum disorder develop communication, social and daily living skills, learn better in school and become more independent. Children and youth with autism have different needs. Services will be available based on an assessment of the child or youth’s specific needs.

Children and youth up to their 18th birthday are eligible for the new ABA-based services if they have a confirmed diagnosis of:

  • Autism/Autistic Disorder
  • Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) or
  • Asperger’s Disorder

The diagnosis must come from a qualified professional such as a family doctor, paediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist or psychological associate. If you would like to know if your child is eligible for the new ABA-based services, please contact us at 1-800-668-6432.
