CHAP Worker Information

Are you a fun, outgoing person looking for a GREAT job? Interested in a career in Social Services? Want to make your own schedule?

The CHAP program is a great way to help a family, gain experience, kick start your career in social services and have a great time doing it! We’re looking for extraordinary people like YOU to join our program!

The CHAP program offers you the opportunity to be connected to families looking for respite support while maintaining the independence and flexibility of being self-employed. Our database matches independent contractors, like yourself, to families supporting individuals of all ages all throughout the Region of Peel.
Interested in joining?

If you are selected for an interview (intake meeting) you will be asked to provide 2 references and consent to a Police Reference Check (dated within the last 12 months).

Here are some important points to remember when an Active CHAP Worker:

  • Before becoming active in the CHAP Program you must attend a CHAP Orientation Session
  • CHAP workers are NOT therapists and should not be providing direct therapy for families/individuals.
  • Please keep your profile up to date as your schedule changes! The database is always evolving as we recruit new workers and families hire workers off the database. Maintaining your profile with your most up-to-date information allows for more successful matches to be made while also decreasing the number of unsuccessful contacts from families.
  • Updates may be requested at scheduled times in order to ensure our database is accurately reflecting workers current availability and contact information. Profiles that are not updated by scheduled dates will be made inactive until they are updated.
  • When updating information such as First Aid/CPR or CPI you will be asked to provide documentation before this information is listed in your active profile.
  • Types of contracts may include variable hours (days, evening, weekends, overnights, relief, summer), Part-time (Possibility of additional hours)
