The Peel Planning Group provides leadership in the systemic and strategic evolution of developmental services in the region of Peel. Comprised of respresentatives from a range of community based services in the region, it has an established track record serving an advisory function to the Central West Region Office of the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. In addition to representation from the developmental service sector, the group includes representation from the child welfare and mental health sectors.
The Peel Respite Community has two specific mandates:
a) The Peel Respite Community provides for the delivery of a range of respite services, for children with significant physical, medical and/ or developmental disabilities and adults with developmental disabilities.
b) To develop a wide range of responsive respite options, with particular emphasis on children who are medically fragile, or with significant physical disabilities, as well as, individuals with autism and/ or a dual diagnosis.
The following agencies are members of the Respite Committee. These agencies may or may not provide direct respite services, but all are interested in the development of a more dynamic respite network in the Peel Region.
More information on these agencies can be found by clicking on the names below. Those providing a respite service are marked with an asterisk (**).
