Address : 39 Fraser Court, Barrie, ON L4N 5J5
Community Regions : Bradford and Area and Barrie and Area
General Information : Empower Simcoe's Family Relief Program is designed to assist families who care for a family member with a disability by creating greater opportunities for all family members to live actively and participate in community activities and allowing parents/guardians time for themselves. Empower Simcoe is a member of a provincial network of respite providers through supportyourway.ca and offers a variety of support options for families.

Families may connect with registered CHAP (Community Helpers for Active Participation) who advertise on the site. They can negotiate to provide the following services:

•Hourly services which provide support in the person’s home as well as outside the person’s home, e.g., support at recreation programs, day camps, community activities, volunteering, job coaching etc.;

•Over-night services providing support in the person's home or in the CHAP's home.

•Daily services providing support for vacations or longer term needs

Individuals who are interested in providing respite/direct support services for adults and/or children with disabilities may register with the CHAP program on the Simcoe supportyourway.ca website.

Residential Respite is available through the agency’s Accommodation Services, for children and adults who require physical and/or medical support and for adults diagnosed with an intellectual disability who may or may not require physical support.
