Description of Individual : Family residing at Yonge and Davisville is seeking a respite provider for a one-year-old boy with omphalocele and a diaphragmatic hernia, both conditions has resulted on pulmonary insufficiency. He is on 1 litre of oxygen during the day and has a G tube.
He is developmentally adequate, aware, playful, and active as any other 1 year old. He likes to go for walks, to be read to, and also to engage in play.
Worker's Role : He will need to be entertained, in addition to diaper changes, to be fed on schedule by mouth and through his G tube. He needs to be constantly supervised to make sure the oxygen is flowing and that he doesn't get tangled.
