Worker ID # : 13822

Education and Experience : I am a developmental services worker (graduate of Centennial college’s DSW program)- worked for 7 years with a person with cerebral palsy. I enjoyed my work. I found it very fulfilling and rewarding. I have developed a wonderful relationship with her. We volunteer at the Royal Ontario Museum and we visit the library. I love reading to her and we also listen to fiction on audio CDs and watch movies and animation. It’s a journey.
While this work is close to my heart, I have a misalignment in my neck and hence I cannot do personal care and I cannot do lifting or transfers. The most I can lift is babies (0-6 months) old. As a DSW, ECA, perinatal Educator, and an adult educator with experience working with both children and adults, I have a good understanding of disabilities. People who have worked with me describe me as a fun person with a gentle approach. Hope to hear from you soon. I have to admit that I am not good at handling aggressive behavior.
Availability : I am available mostly but currently working on demand, with a family. So it depends on what their hours are. It would need to be negotiated.
