Respite Options in Waterloo Region

In Waterloo Region, nine developmental service agencies offer a variety of respite programs, both in-home and out-of-home. These programs serve people of varying ages with a variety of different needs and interests. Program Title :	Weekend Respite

Program Length :	Friday evening through Sunday evening
Program Cost :	Negotiated directly with family.
Admission Criteria :	Individuals must have a developmental disability as confirmed through the DSO. Respite must be booked 60 days prior to your weekend that you require.
Activities :	Support is provided to develop/enhance independent living skills as well as recreational, leisure, and social opportunities.
Comments :	Weekend Relief provides residential support in a home-like setting for adults 18 years of age or older who live with a caregiver outside of the Elmira District Community Living's residential services. This service is available to residents of Waterloo Region up to one weekend per month. Contact the Developmental Service Ontario office to apply for subsidized respite.
