|Admission Criteria :||
Safehaven provides respite services for newborns, babies, toddlers, children and teenagers (up to the age of 17) with physical and/or developmental disabilities and children with complex medical needs. Safehaven provides respite to children with the following diagnoses:
-Acquired brain injury
-Children who require oxygen
Safehaven provides an out-of-home respite program which aims to offer an enriching experience for children. Safehaven's respite program has a clear focus on community participation and inclusion and recreational programming, while enabling the child's parent/guardian to take a break from their constant caring role. Safehaven works in partnership with families in aiming to deliver a quality respite program that becomes an extension of the child's family house.
Activities include but are not limited to:
-tactile and sensory arts and crafts and games
Ability to pay is NEVER a barrier to service.
There are 2 locations in York Region - Woodbridge (Hwy 7 & Pine Valley Dr.) and Aurora (Aurora Heights & Bathurst)
We assess all children and if the family is willing to travel they could access our Toronto locations (Etobicoke, Downtown, North York)
